Truffles by the Sea
By Julie Carobini

BACK COVER:

Gaby Flores has a penchant for drama and an unfortunate knack for dating Mr. So Wrong. After breaking off yet another relationship, watching her apartment building burn to the ground, and discovering that her dippy delivery driver has just run off with most of her business, Gaby decides it's time to turn things around!

She moves to a tiny waterfront loft and takes on a new motto: "Be gullible no more." With help from her friends, she works to rebuild her flower shop - and her bank account. But when a lawsuit, an eviction notice, quirky neighbors, and two surprise romances invade her beachy world, Gaby's motto and fledgling faith are put to the test.

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:

Truffles by the Sea is a beautiful story of friendship, love and rebuilding after tragedy and betrayal. Just when you think things can't get any worse for Gaby, something else goes wrong. She has lost everything she owns in a fire and a theft but Gaby faces these losses with humor, determination and chocolate.

Ms. Carobini introduces a myriad of zany and fun characters in this book. You will laugh as you read about them and probably relate to some of them as well. There is Iris, the nosy neighbor, and Kit, the goth teenager. To find out who "Sweet Thing" is, you will just have to read the book.

This was definitely one of those books that you can't put down and can't wait to get back to when you have to stop reading. There is humor on almost every page, mystery, and some touching moments as well. I loved how unpredictable it was. Just when you think you have things figured out, Ms. Carobini goes in another direction altogether. There are quite a few plot twists. I can't wait to read her other book that tells the story of Gaby's friend, Bri.
