Title of Book: Shadows in the Mirror By Linda Hall BACK COVER: “Never go back to Burlington!” Those were the dying words of the secretive aunt who’d raised orphaned Marylee Simson. Yet to discover who she was, Marylee had to go back. Sure the Lord would look out for her. But learning anything about her past was proving impossible. Why were there no records of the accident that claimed her parent’s lives? N records of her parents, period? And who was trying to stop her from finding out? Someone whose threats were escalating. Someone close to her such as Evan Baxter, the handsome photographer she’d entrusted with the one clue she had. REVIEWER’S COMMENTS: Linda Hall shines as an enjoyable mystery writer in Shadows in the Mirror. With a hint of mystery and of romance, Shadows in the Mirror draws the reader in with its intriguing story of a young girl with a past that may just come back to haunt her. Marylee Simson, orphaned at a young age, ignores the pleading of her dying aunt and returns to her childhood home of Burlington, Vermont. After buying a home, and establishing her own craft business, Marylee comes upon the shock of her life-the picture she has of her parents might have been a complete fabrication. Within her circle of friends and fellow crafters Marylee embarks on an investigation of her past which could very well put her life in danger. Handsome photographer, Evan Baxter swoops into help Marylee like a knight in shining armor. Unsure if rumors about her handsome new beau are true, Marylee isn’t sure who she can trust. Linda Hall does an excellent job at keeping this mystery in motion, and all the characters were personable and easy to imagine. If you like a bit of romance stirred into your mystery novel I’d recommend giving this book a try!
